Circles of Life

The word for the day on 11/29 was "circles" It was Nathaniel's 37th birthday - we had Thanksgiving 3 days ago. Everything clicked - I drew these circles - symbolic of Dave and me with our 3 children and all the people who made us "us."

These are not perfect and not new thoughts - but somehow they hit home as we wind down this year of 2020.

Circles of Life:

beginnings and endings
creating and launching
sharing and holding
laughing and crying
hugging and kissing
Hello and Goodbye
Loving
Always
Belonging

Thanksgiving 2020

These people 'round my table
some far away - some near.
They all touch my life
even when no longer here.
Together they formed me
through good times and bad.
And I am ever grateful
for all the times we've had.

The Laundromat

Splish, splash
Suds and water,
Washing my blanket clean.
Round and round
it goes again
inside the drying machine!

A Jar Full of Dreams

A jar full of buttons is a jar full of dreams.
Colors of the rainbow and colors in between.

Cut from clothes that used to fit, or bought for those to come.
Handed down through generations or passed from parent to son.

Use one to fix a shirt or a coat, or use them to make something new.
This jar is full of dreams gone by and passed along to you!

Hug a BearDay

This bear wants a great big hug
I'm sure it will not bite.
Mommy made this bear rug
so I can squeeze it tight!

Night before the election 11/2/2020

This is a prayer.

Many are concerned about tomorrow's election - especially the presidential election. I want to trust in your goodness and the goodness that lives inside of people. Be with us as we listen to news as it comes - it could be there will be no answer tomorrow- but as numbers come in - bless us all with grace and mercy and love of neighbor.

I am reading positive and blessed words tonight.

I just finished playing some of my favorite songs -  Hail Mary Gentle Woman, You Are Near, Be Not Afraid. I am happy that chords are coming back into my fingers and I can sit, sing and pray those beautiful peaceful songs.

Thank you for being there.

Thank you for healing.

Thank you for the love you have for all of us.

Bring us peace.
